Fishing Report 10/5/15

Posted on October 5th, 2015 by Captain TJ

Last weeks super moon tide phases had an excellent week of striped bass fishing. The bass fishing was not only consistent, but also had a good push of some of the larger fish of the year. Bass a little below the 40 pound mark came over the rails, along with a mess of heavy bluefish. This past weekend’s Noreaster kept us tied to the dock for a few days, but the best fishing of 2015 has just begun. Scup and black sea bass still carpet the hard bottom, and Blackfish opens on the 10th. The “Fall Run” is officially here. Fishing till Nov. 15th!

Stripers have been fantastic.  Blues are blitzing on massive schools of peanut bunker and the bottom fishing is as good as it gets.  Book now for the “Fall Run” before it’s too late.  We plan on finishing up the season on November 15th, but if the weather cooperates we will fish longer.  Don’t forget that the Blackfish season starts on 10/10.

Here’s Kevin Pryor’s group displaying some nice bass!

Awesome fishing and the fall run is just starting!  This is without question the best fishing of the year. The next 10 weeks will see epic fishing in Long Island Sound; Bass, blues, seabass, porgies and of course Blackfish. That season opens on 10/10 and we had lock and load action with large seabass right along with them last year and if history repeats itself we will have some really happy customers. We will be fishing till Sunday Nov. 15th this year or perhaps longer if the weather cooperates.  Be sure to keep up with us daily on facebook. –Capt. TJ

Awesome fishing right now.  Some days the morning’s the best for stripers, other’s it’s the afternoon with there being no real consistency in the bite, but the bottom line is we are usually getting 2 -15 a trip ranging from 22″ all the way up to 40 pounds.  Blues are thick and the bottom is paved with porgies and seabass!    – Call today!

Hannah Pancione nailed her first 30 this week!

The fishing this week was hot again, with a mixed bag of species being caught most trips. The bass bite was consistent, for the most part, but the bite was a little slower than last week. This week was another good week for bass in the 30-pound class making up for the slight dip in numbers. That will change after the moon in a few days as we expect a new wave of fish to move in. Blues have been excellent on most trips averaging 10 -20 a trip. The slower tides this week allowed us to bottom fish longer letting us capitalize on the the seabass and porgies. Only a few weeks left before the summer ends, get those kids out there!

Fishing Report 7/18/15

This week has absolutely been the best fishing of the season.  Lot’s of stripers, lots of action.  Big, small, they’re all here.  Bluefish finally showed up with regularity and the seabass and scup fishing is still off the charts.  – Check out Todd Campbell’s 37 pounder!

Fishing Report 7/6/15

Striped bass fishing finally seems to be getting better every day, yet still a bit inconsistent.   Most groups are catching six or seven, some are struggling for three.  The good news is that most of the fish have been good sized fish in the 20- to 40-pound bracket.  Blues seem to be just starting to show up.  You can set your watch by the sea bass and porgy action though!  The bottom is carpeted with keeper sea bass and there are good numbers of huge porgies mixed in with them and most trips see a few bonus fluke as well. You want to talk about some great fishing to get your kids involved in?  They are going to have a blast!  The action is red hot now and this should hold through the rest of the summer.-  Call now!

Fishing Report – 6/29/15

We’ve been getting some NICE stripers lately. Not a lot of numbers, but the ones that we’ve been hooking into have been SOLID fish. Many, many fish over 30 pounds this week and seabass is off the charts. Total lock and load. We still have openings for July dates, morning or afternoon time slots does not seem to matter for the bite. Here’s regular customer Lindsay Urban with some nice bass from her trip the other day.
