Here’s regular customer Ray Simpson with a big ‘ol FAT bass from the other day.
– Week 3 into the season and we’re finally seeing some nice quality fish. A lot of stripers in the 25lb -30lb class with several a touch below 40lb, so the quality is here, the quantity is still not. The water temp dropped from 61F at the end of last week, to 53 this week because of the cold front. Things warmed up yesterday and we’re back up to 57 now. There’s also been a bunch of smaller (short) stripers. –A good sign for the future and a sprinkling of bluefish hitting the deck as well. Fluke numbers are still good with many fish over 20’’ taken this week with 24” being the largest again and we’re starting to get more and more porgies on each trip too. New moon phase next week. Fingers crossed. – Capt. TJ
