Connecticut Fishing Report 7/15/16

Striped bass action is the best we’ve seen in 2 years!  Blues have been showing up more consistently now too.  Porgies should start firing up any day now since the sea bass have finally slowed down, and we’re seeing some nice keeper fluke too!  – Call Today!

The first week of the spring run has been spectacular!

Black Sea Bass fishing has been off the charts with some porgies and fluke in the mix too!  Striped Bass catches have also been good. The biggest fish so far was in the 30lb class and we even tagged 3 fish for the ALS striped bass research program!

Big post-spawn stripers are beginning to move out of Chesapeake Bay and could show up next week along the coast from New Jersey to Long Island. In the meantime, fresh schoolie stripers have been reported as far north as Plum Island, Massachusetts, and bigger bass are mixing in from Connecticut to Cape Cod.
